Where are your student blogs?

While you’re wondering about how to get your podcast going, have given much attention to getting your students blogging?  Student blogging is a great classroom tool, to generate interest, and to help gauge progress.  Here’s one from fifth graders, on science:  Steve Spangler.

Let me also mention this site, The Living Classroom, which shows how blogging can be integrated into a great program for very young students — kindergarten, first grade, etc.

Thanks for sharing our blog about the kids who are blogging about October Sky and Homer Hickam. I encouraged another teacher to start her own blog at http://www.lisaheaton.com She’s still working on it, but the kids love to blog!

I’m trying to identify a group of teachers who are blogging with their students. I’m in the research stage of a new book and wanting to find teachers who are have some experience with teaching their students to blog.

But the difference is that your team at Youthinkleft are all volunteers. You make the point — students are capable and willing. So shouldn’t teachers use blogs as a tool of learning in the classroom?
