Alaska is still counting ballots in the U.S. Senate race, but for the state offices, most of which were not contended in this cycle, the election is over. Sarah Palin is back at work there — except when she’s on a plane to the lower 48 to do interviews for her out-of-Alaska career.
So, how is education faring there?
Progressive Alaska notes several areas where improvement might be had. (Is that really a photo of Gov. Palin?)

Millard Fillmore's Bathtub
While Obama was running for the presidency, he managed to make enough votes in the Senate to let Sen. McCain claim he was the “most liberal.” McCain, on the other hand, couldn’t be rated. McCain missed as many votes as only one other senator — the one who died. I think, on the whole, Obama did okay on holding down two jobs. So did the people of Illinois.
But that wasn’t my point. My snark was directed at how she was unavailable for press interviews, until suddenly she’ thinking of running for a different office, and then she’s suddenly available for softball interviews — or interviews she hopes will be softball.
Once you’re in the big leagues, you need to learn to hit big league pitching. Using a tee isn’t the way to go if you want to claim to be better than Ted Williams.

Mr Obama spent over two years working on his “out of Senate career” while a Senator. I won’t hold my breath waiting for snarky criticism of that.
