I cannot tell you how many arguments that I’ve had with people about this over the years! Doesn’t it even have that “this is a work of fiction” disclaimer at the end of the credits? I haven’t watched in years.

Even though I never saw the film, I thought of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre yesterday, but that’s because we finally fixed our little electric chainsaw, so I was using it to saw wood. I think it’s something about the words–Texas Chainsaw trips off the tongue.
