I haven’t found any commemoration in Georgia of Georgia Statehood Day.
Which rather moots Luther McKinnon’s question about which Georgia flag to fly on the date. (Head over there anyway, just to see the photos.)
In any case, January 2 is Georgia Statehood day. U.S. law urges residents of states to fly the U.S. flag on the anniversary of statehood. Georgia was the fourth state to ratify the U.S. Constitution, in a unanimous vote in a convention called solely to consider the document, on January 2, 1788. Georgia is considered the fourth state.

While patriots urge flying the flag often, and “with gusto,” one should be careful to avoid errors in etiquette, or other oopsies, like this one in April 2014:
Via Buzzfeed: Braves Spokesperson Beth Marshall told 11Alive News it happened because of new pyrotechnics. For the first time, they put pyrotechnics on Braves Vision (that’s the large HD screen). One of the pyrotechnics flew at the flag and lit it on fire. Marshall said the material of the flag is flame retardant, so it went out on its own.
