Helpful readers

Readers make the blog. In addition to several good comments, the good folks at www.frostimaging.com provided an improved version of the banner, based on the White House’s painting of Millard Fillmore. Thank you to Frost Imaging.

I’m sure I don’t know exactly why — but a big part of it is a link from Pharyngula, where P. Z. Myers has enough traffic that even a mere nod boosts another blog’s numbers enormously.

Everyone else is going for the post were I mention that National Review On-line has a columnist who talks about the errors of advocates of intelligent design . . . here: https://timpanogos.wordpress.com/2006/12/31/national-reviews-john-derbyshire-hammers-intelligent-design-advocates/

Since this is new, and since I got here from Pharyngula, I’d just like to throw out a subject for discussion.

So many school boards try to “foster critical thinking” by writing alternatives to evolution theory into the curriculum. Do any school boards try to foster critical thinking (or waste class time) by mandating
study of alternatives to mainstream history into the curriculum – like the JFK assasination conspiracy theory, or that slaves were happy in their lot?

And you’ve mispelled “National Arcives” in your link list. But as (I think) Andrew Jackson said, “It’s a damn fool who can think of only one way to spell a word!” (Did he really say that?)
