A Tom Toles cartoon from 2004

Insert a definition of “filibuster” here.

Then pray for action.

Then call your congressman, and him/her to act, now.

_____________

Note on Tom Toles from the Department of Earth Sciences, G-107 Environmental Geology, Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI):  “A political cartoon from the Washington Post on climate change. Thanks — yes, I have the book sitting right here. I especially like the chapter in which they point out the anti-Rachel Carson, pro-DDT movement is all bunk.

Climate change denial, DDT/malaria denial, creationism, Keynes denial, anti-vaccination stuff . . . generally someone who subscribes to one form of lunacy is primed to subscribe to others, and in my experience, they get suckered by all of them.

Have you read Merchants of Doubt? I think the book help explains some of the politics behind the conversation so well portrayed in this ancient cartoon.
